Dr. Jack A. Harris


Dr. Harris was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of Notre Dame, majoring in Science-Business with a supplemental degree in Spanish and graduating summa cum laude. During his time at Notre Dame, Dr. Harris was a Division I collegiate cheerleader, where he earned a Varsity Letter and met his wife, Dr. Sara Stewart, MD – a Crystal Lake native.

Dr. Harris earned his dental degree from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, graduating as salutatorian with honors in research. He then completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami in Miami, Florida, where he served as chief resident.

Dr. Harris has authored 38 publications on topics ranging from feeding outcomes in patients with craniofacial abnormalities to broader subjects within global oral and maxillofacial surgery. He has particular clinical interests in dental implants, corrective jaw surgery, facial trauma, and oral pathology.

Outside the operating room, Dr. Harris enjoys spending time with his wife, cooking, hiking, traveling internationally, and maintaining an active lifestyle through fitness.

Dr. Harris speaks both English and Spanish.

Dr. Harris is board-eligible in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and maintains certification in:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)
