At our practice, we utilize the i-CAT® Cone Beam Scanner for our 3D dental imaging. Consistently high quality, high resolution scanning is complete in under 5 seconds, emitting lower levels of radiation than conventional scanning.
Typical dental x-rays focus only on the teeth and for each x-ray picture, you need one exposure. 3D ConeBeam imaging provides more complete visual information that allows each case to be studied from every angle. Scan data can be duplicated easily, allowing scans to be shared between specialists.
Utilizing this type of imaging optimizes diagnostics:
- Allows for precision placement of implants
- Indicates whether bone grafting or sinus lift is required
- Determines proximity of vital structures
- Accurately measures bone and jaw deformities
- Detects cysts, tumors or other pathology
Precise data and measurements are obtained, allowing the surgeons to calculate perfect positioning. The entire course of treatment can be mapped, from surgical placement of the implant and abutment, all the way to final restoration.
